Research shows that when environmental awareness increases among employees, operational awareness follows suit.
The goal of the assessment is to measure the municipality's position in these aspects and demonstrate in a realistic way how increased education and a targeted approach can deliver both environmental and financial benefits.
Choice of institutions
The municipality selects 6–10 institutions to participate in the audit. They are chosen so that they reflect the different operating forms and activities within the municipality.
Audit and analysis
Laufið conducts an audit that includes an analysis of key factors such as heating, electricity and waste costs. In parallel, visits are made to the institutions where the environmental awareness of the staff is assessed and procedures are evaluated based on uniform criteria. The results are then placed in the context of the municipality's operating costs and resource utilization.
Report and results
The municipality will receive access to the results via a report within six weeks. The report shows where opportunities lie to improve resource utilization, reduce waste and increase operational efficiency, and lays the foundation for targeted education and actions for the future.
